A refusal to settle.

Ekaterina and Farida barely knew each other when they decided to start a jewellery brand together. A Russian-born architect and an Azerbaijani art historian — two people who happened to share one instinct: when something doesn't exist and should, you build it.

What was missing was simple to name and harder to find. Not another charm bracelet. Not another hoop. Something that held its ground — in a room, on skin, over time.


On materials

Every Mishka piece begins with a question about material. Not what is easy to source, or what sells, but what is right.

We work with 925 sterling silver — chosen for its weight, its permanence, its ability to age honestly. Where we plate, we use gold. Where the design calls for contrast and softness, we bring in genuine leather and silk — materials that carry their own history, their own texture, their own quiet authority.

When Mishka uses stones, they are cut in Istanbul. Not outsourced. We are among the very few jewellery brands in the city who insist on this. It takes longer. It costs more. It is not something we negotiate.


On craft

We don't make things that need a trend to justify them. The pieces we design are considered slowly and built to last — in material terms and in the less measurable sense of remaining relevant to the person wearing them years from now.


On where we are

Ekaterina now works largely from the UK. Farida from Istanbul. Mishka exists in the space between — a brand with no fixed geography, and no desire for one. What will not move is our standard.

Quality is not a value we list. It is the only decision we make, every time.
